Wingham Remembrance Parade & Service - Sunday 9 November 2025

Remembrance wreaths at the Wingham War Memorial

The annual parade started at the Wingham Remembrance Garden and proceeded to St Mary’s Church for the service in the church grounds. The weather was on our side and there was a fabulous turn out - see photos below

The Act of Remembrance and prayers were carried out in the grounds of St Mary's church and then wreaths were laid at the Wingham War Memorial where we also heard about Cecil Belsey, a village boy, who died during the Dunkirk evacuation and is buried in the Wingham cemetery. The photos below show the congregation at the war memorial, wreaths being laid, and Cecil Belsey's grave.

Though not shown in the above photos, many resident volunteers and members of Wingham Parish Council were helping to keep us all safe by marshalling the road closure and the parade - a big thank you to you all.
