The Local Authorities (Members Allowances) Regulations 2003 state that a parish council may pay a parish basic allowance to each of its members. The Regulations also provide that a parish council may pay to its members a travel and subsistence allowance including an allowance in respect of travel by bicycle or by any other non-motorised form of transport, undertaken or incurred in connection with the performance of various prescribed duties.
During the financial year 2020-2021 no councillors received the basic allowance.
Two councillors and the clerk attended the KALC AGM together in November 2019 and travel expenses were claimed by the clerk. The clerk also claimed travel expenses for KALC Training undertaken in January 2020. No other travel expenses for attending meetings or training were claimed.
The Register of Allowances may be inspected by any local government elector of the parish on application to the Clerk.
