WINGHAM HIGHWAYS MATTERS

20mph ROUNDELS: Speedwatch and Speed Indicator Device Statistics show that the 20mph zone has made a significant difference with an overall reduction in speeds in all test locations.  However, there is always more that can be done and Wingham PC would like to introduce some reminder 20mph roundels in a few key locations to remind drivers of the speed limit throughout the 20mph zone.

Wingham PC are conscious not to introduce too much street clutter, but are also aware that some drivers may forget or not realise they are in the 20mph zone so a few well-placed roundels should help with this.

DO YOU AGREE?

Please let Wingham PC know your thoughts on this by contacting the clerk:

EV CHARGING: Kent County Council state they want to make sure everyone in Kent is able to make the switch to an electric vehicle (EV) and if you can’t charge up where you live or work, you should be confident that you can access reliable, affordable public charge points within walking distance of your home.

KCC have been awarded Government funding for Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) to significantly increase the amount of public charge points in Kent and so they plan to help provide thousands of public on-street charge points for residents who don’t have off-street parking, allowing them to plug in locally, but they need your help!

They are currently identifying potential locations for on-street charging points and welcome your thoughts, especially if you own an EV or are thinking about making the switch.

You can nominate your street for a public charge point using their interactive map.
