A series of works are due to take place in May by Openreach in the Wingham area. Details sent from the KCC Streetworks team are as follows:-
Openreach - Temporary Road Closure - Hearts Delight Lane, Wingham - 5th May 2026 (Dover District)
Due to works planned to be undertaken by Openreach, it will be necessary to close part of Hearts Delight Lane, Wingham, from 5th May 2026 with estimated completion by 6th May 2026.
Hearts Delight Lane, Wingham, will be closed outside Boundary Farm, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hearts Delight Lane, Preston Road, Wenderton Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while allowing fibre works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Openreach.

Openreach - Temporary Road Closure - Staple Road, Wingham - 5th May 2026 (Dover District)
Due to works planned to be undertaken by Openreach, it will be necessary to close part of Staple Road, Wingham, from 5th May 2026 with estimated completion by 6th May 2026.
Staple Road, Wingham, will be closed approximately 60m West of Hall Cottage, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Staple Road, The Street, School Lane, Durlock Road, Guilton, A257 Pedding Hill, A257 Roman Road, A257 Gobery Hill, A257 High Street, B2046 High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while allowing fibre works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Openreach.

Openreach - 40MPH Speed Limit - B2046 Adisham Road, Adisham - 8th May 2026 (Dover District)
Due to works planned to be undertaken by Openreach, it will be necessary to impose a mandatory speed limit on part of B2046 Adisham Road, Adisham, from 8th May 2026 with estimated completion by 8th May 2026.
B2046 Adisham Road will have a mandatory 40MPH speed limit imposed from The Old Engineers House to outside Uffington Cottages. The speed limit will be imposed between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The speed limit is required for the safety of the public and workforce while allowing fibre works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Openreach.
