Thank you to everyone who attended the Wingham Annual Parish Assembly on Wednesday evening and to all who helped and presented on the night and those who helped with preparation, including Elgars Estate Agents for photocopying the report packs and agenda.

PLEASE take time to read the Annual Reports below which provide information about what's been happening during the last year within the parish, district and the county. So many people are doing such fantastic things on all of our behalves to keep our community thriving.

The Jack Jolly Award was presented to Matt Andrews by Chairman, Cllr Sharon Addis, at the Parish Assembly.

The KALC Community Award was presented to Di and Barry French on Friday 2 May in the Anchor Inn Garden as they were unable to attend the Parish Assembly.

JACK JOLLY AWARD (Glass Trophy kept for one year and Certificate): The nomination for Matt noted the energy and enthusiasm he brings to all his endeavours, including his early morning paper round, his caretaker role at Wingham Primary School, and as shop assistant at Wingham Central Stores, and always with a smile and sense of humour.

KALC COMMUNITY AWARD (Certificate signed by the Chairman of Kent County Council and the KALC Chairman): Di and Barry were nominated for their huge efforts in clearing and tidying Wingham pavements and verges and helping to tidy garden areas. They have also become Community Caretakers by signing up to the Dover District Council scheme.

RECREATION GROUND COMMITTEE

As noted in the draft minutes above, nominations from Village Groups received at the Assembly were approved by those present and existing committee members prepared to restand were agreed. However, there remain vacancies on the Committee. If you would be interested in helping the committee to raise funds for improvements to the pavilion and to keep the Recreation Ground the fantastic resource that it is, please contact the Parish Council Clerk or the Recreation Ground Committee Chairman, Ian Pettman.
