'CHECK A CHIP DAYS' - Dog Microchipping Campaign

Dover District Council's microchipping campaign will be coming to Wingham on Friday 28th July 2025 at the Recreation Ground, taking place from 10am – 1pm.
Dover District Council received 144 contacts relating to lost or stray dogs in the last financial year (01/04/2024-31/03/2025) resulting in 98 dogs being formally seized as strays by our Stray Dog Service.
At the point of seizure, 54% of dogs did not have a valid microchip (percentage includes stray dogs seized without a microchip and incorrect details). This is a 17% decrease from the last financial year.
The Environmental Crime Team will be offering FREE microchip checks for dogs to ensure the microchip is working and the information is up to date.
