RECYCLING & WASTE COLLECTIONS - Dover District

The District's recycling and waste collection services have been severely disrupted over recent weeks following the rescheduling of the collection rounds undertaken by Veolia in April which created significant issues for some residents. They are still working to resolve this situation.

The collection services are now also being severely affected by the national shortage of HGV drivers and to a lesser extent the so called 'pingdemic' requiring staff to self-isolate.

DDC are working with Veolia to address this, but there is now a significant backlog of recycling collections not completed.

In order to catch up, garden waste collections have been suspended for the remainder of this week, so residents who have signed up to this service should store their garden waste until their next scheduled collection.

Where collections do run late due to the problems outlined, DDC are asking residents to leave their bins/ bags out for collection as they will be collected.
