A fabulous opportunity to show thanks and appreciation for those in our community who go the extra mile to help make this village a fantastic place to live.

Presentations of The Jack Jolly Award and KALC Community Award will be made in the garden of The Anchor Inn at 6pm this Wednesday - please come along. The winners are:-

The Jack Jolly Award gives recognition for outstanding contribution to the fabric and life of the Wingham Parish Community over a number of years. The Wingham Newsagents, along with recently retired (after 50+ years) member of staff Jean Penfold, and the deliverers were nominated by several residents for all their support, and particulary their friendly and welcoming nature during the pandemic, ensuring that deliveries continued throughout.

The Kent Associal of Local Councils (KALC) Community Award Scheme is supported by the High Sheriff of Kent, Kent County Council and Medway Council. It was established to acknowledge and give recognition to those that have made a significant contribution to their local community. The Anchor Team were nominated by several residents for never stepping away from a challenge and showing enormous community spirit, particularly during the pandemic, and for all the other unseen ways they support residents and the village.
