WINGHAM PLAYGROUND AND OUTDOOR GYM - COVID-19 UPDATE JANUARY 2021

Under the current Government Covid-19 legislation, Wingham Parish Councillors resolved at their Council Meeting on Monday 11 January 2021 that the Playground at Wingham Recreation Ground will remain OPEN, but the Outdoor Gym will remain CLOSED.

Notices on site at the Outdoor Gym will be replaced and updated where necessary to make the closure clear. The council would be grateful if residents and visitors could please respect this closure and not tamper with the temporary fencing placed around the gym during this closure. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS EQUIPMENT.

THE 'TALK TUBES' IN THE PLAYGOUND SHOULD ALSO NOT BE USED PLEASE. They have been closed since the first lockdown as there is the potential for contact with the face (mouth/ears) to use these. Signs and tape to close this equipment keep being removed and the Council would be grateful once again for residents and visitors not to tamper with the signs and closure of this equipment please.

Scientific advice suggests that the Covid-19 virus can survive for up to several days on some hard surfaces. The risks are reduced when outdoors, where surfaces may be subject to UV light and/or rain. PLEASE NOTE: The users of the Playground equipment and MUGA do so at their own choice and risk as it is not feasible for Wingham Parish Council to provide cleaning equipment/sanitisers or carry out cleaning of equipment and/or regular touch points.
